Should Greandes stun friendlys? - 04/08/03 | By: Nemesis
The ability to fight at close ranges, is arguably the best and most effective way to achieve victroy overall. If you consider how many times one team manages to snipe an opposing team, in comparison there is a clearly significant factor which shows that most deaths occur from close range nading, resulting in stun kills. Nading results in the gaining, or attempted gaining, of strategic positions throughout a map. It is important to take such positions, as vps, line of fire, etc are based on these defensive positions.
Cu
rrently,
Nades do not allow use if they are within the indicated 'danger area' around a friendly player. In my opinion this needs to be changed.
The concern for realism is present. In a real war it would be possible to throw a nade into your own men. Although, one could consider it stupid, it is still possible. Being able to nade friendlys would allow a whole new strategy in regards to throwing hand nades - resulting in more skill by the players to be displayed. For this reason nading friendlys would be very useful. But first we must explore the negative side of it. When you nade a friendly, the risk of a killer nade, should be still be present, if not a little higher - because of the circumstances around the situation.

of this can be seen, even by people who are new to the game. One player gets annoyed with another, so he just throws nades until the other player is killed. This is one of the most signicant arguments against the stunning friendlys. For such an action perhaps some defensive measure might be put in place to avoid such an incident. It could be an option in the server, which can be selected. This could be turned on, when playing with mature, responsible players. Another form of punishment could occur, where if you kill a friendly, regardless of circumstances you suffer and severe loss of pps. Making the option of nading a friendly - more difficult a descision.

abililty to nade a friendly should be allowed. However, there are many concerns about how exactly a system can be implemented which will allow you to nade friendlys but also deal with abusers. A concept such as this, I don't expect, to be implemented anytime soon. It is more a future hope - In a perfect enviroment all players would be sensible and not abuse such power - but this is obviously not true. | | |
